Module certificate loading (EXSx2/TXx2/PLSx3/ELS62)

Tutorial, July 6, 2022 - 7:58am, 760 views

Nowadays protecting data communications becomes more and more important. The embedded TCP/IP stack of Cinterion® wireless modules supports server and client authentication for Transport Layer Security (TLS) for all services except Listener services.

The concept of TLS for Cinterion® wireless modules is targeted on industrial applications capable of secure communication. The Cinterion® wireless module acts as TLS/SSL client and supports server and optionally client authentication.

There have been a range of tutorials on the Thales DevZone covering TLS certificate loading already (links copied below). The aim of this tutorial is to introduce a convenient tool that simplifies the certificate loading. Especially if you have just started in the world of wireless modules, the process of loading and managing TLS certificates can be quickly overwhelming.

The attached slides guide you through the TLS certificate loading process on the EXSx2 module (CATM/NB/2G), but works similarly with modules such as TXx2, PLSx3 and ELS62.
