How to register to Cinterion Module Services
Tutorial, December 15, 2017 - 2:21pm, 9657 views
Cinterion Module Services is a zero touch IoT device management tool accessible through a web portal to all Gemalto customers. To use it, there is no need to modify your embedded device software; just enable the Service Agent feature in the supported Cinterion modules and you are ready to go.
Module Services provides tools that simplify the provisioning and remote maintenance of IoT device fleets over their entire lifecycle. The tool is able to manage Java application updates, firmware over-the-air, help ****** the connectivity performance, depoy new configuration rules, and more. Leveraging Module Services allows you to focus on your IoT application, rather than on device management aspects.
It takes just a few minutes to register and start using it. Let's go through the registration process.
How to register?
Go to https://mods.gemalto.io.
You will find a log in screen. Just click on NOT REGISTERED, a pop-up window will appear.
In the pop-up window, enter your company information, including the Gemalto Customer ID. The Customer ID is a six-digit indicator found in the invoices we send to you when you order Cinterion modules. If unsure about your Customer ID, please contact your local Gemalto sales representative.
Once filled in, please read the terms and conditions of our service by clicking on the link below. Afterwards, click on REGISTER. Gemalto will validate your request and you will receive an email to confirm your subscription.
In the end, you just have to confirm your subscription by clicking on the link provided in the email, and you are ready to go!
The next step is to prepare your Cinterion Module, Terminal or Development Kit to work with Module Services. The next tutorial in this series will explain you how to do it.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
Thanks for the Tutorial!
I bought my modules from a distributor and therefor have no invoice from Gemalto (just from the distributor). Can I register anyway?
Thanks in advance
Dear CIDO_FELIX,
glad you liked it!
You have to contact the distributor you have purchased the modules from, and ask them to create an account for you. In case your distributor is not yet registered to Module Services, they can get in touch with us directly and we will help them out.
Cheers!
Thank you for the tutorial
Is there a list of supported modules/modems?
Thank you!
