What exactly is happening - can you describe more? What firmware version do they have - can you check ATI1 command output?

That's not good. I think you should try without checking the no firmware option because there is firmware installed. If there was no firmware the module starts in firmware download mode and then the update could work like that. If there is a firmware installed the swup tool ***** to initiate the update process with AT command (AT^SFDL). If that was possible before the module throws exit there is a chance that the firmware updates. If not I think that you will not be able to do anything more by yourself. There still is a chance that the the firmware could be updated with some internal tools. But on the other hand such exit could mean that there is a problem with flash memory of the module and nothing will help.
Were these modules working in a field in some devices already or are they by any chance new?

I bought 2 modules in aliexpress. Looks like original modules
But, after start they write to COM :
+CIEV: mcclock,1
Does this mean that they are blocked for my country?
