I would like to trnslate signal strength to an icon (with 5 bars.
When using the AT^SMONI I get the following response:
^SMONI: 4G,2501,5,10,10,FDD,310,410,700D,C9719CA,107,25,-98,-12.0,NOCONN.
My question is:
1. Why do I get NOCONN (although I am connected to the internet)
2. I assume I should refer to the -98 as the signal strength. Is that correct?
3. Is there a better way to get that info? should I take into considurations other fields?
Thanks!
Hello,
Signal strength is good only for 2G. For 3g and 4G there are other parameters that can better describe the signal quality.
In your SMONI output -98 is RSRP - Reference Signal Received Power - one of the important parameters you need for signal quality.
Please see these example links:

Here are also examples I have found in our documentation:
As for NOCONN status the connection is only shown here when the data is actually transferred. So the best way to see CONN is to send or receive a file for example.
