Resources for Java Development on PLS62T-W? | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

Hello,
I am looking for information / resources / tutorials regarding the development of Java applications on the PLS62T-W terminal platform under Windows 10 - specifically using Eclipse IDE with module debug mode enabled.
I have found various pieces of information / drivers / SDK associated with the EHS6T-USB Java development under Windows 7 but so far nothing specific to the PLS62T-W under Windows 10.
Is there a central resource of information and tools for developers working with PLS62T-W terminals within Windows 10?
Thanks in advance.
Jim.
Hello,
For each Java enabled module we provide the SDK package which contains all the necessary software and Java User's Guide document that describes the installation process, project creation and more.
In general all is similar for all modules with JVM. For terminal there is also no difference.
Please see here: https://iot-developer.thalesgroup.com/documentation/download-documentati...
Please also see here https://iot-developer.thalesgroup.com/knowledge-base for different example projects.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
Hello Bartłomiej
Many thanks for the link to the resources - this answers my question.
Regarding the terminals, is it the case that the PLS62T W (USB) will replace the BGS5T or EHS6 (USB)?
I ask, because our supplier told us that believe the BGS5T terminal will be discontinued and also the Thales site seems to only reference the PLS62T W now (no EHS6?).
I just want to be sure which models or Java terminals will be supplied / supported in the future.
Thanks.
Hello Bartłomiej
One more question - the Java guide for the PLS62 references the Cinterion Mobility Toolkit Installation CD which I guess contains the WTK, Java SDK etc.
Is this something our supplier can supply or has this been superseded by a downloadable package (distribution via CD rom seems a little 'old' nowadays).
Is the Cinterion Mobility Toolkit for the PL62W / Windows 10 available online somewhere?
Thanks again.
Hello,
PLS62 module (and terminal) is definitely newer than BGS5 but also it is far from the latest ones. So, in general I would recommend you to contact either your sales or local Thales M2M office for more detailed information about the modules current and planned availability. I'm far from sales.
As for SDK or installCD it is recommended to use the package released for your firmware version. In general there is a backward compatibility but when you start the development you should choose the most appropriate one. It is not distributed as physical CD, just the common name still functions with
'CD'. You should get the appropriate version from your distributor. The downloadable resources are also available in the extranet but you need to have access.
Some versions can be found here https://iot-developer.thalesgroup.com/documentation/download-documentati... but these might not be the recent ones.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
