HI,
So far I've been unable to successfully download the xtra2.bin from my Raspberry Pi to the PLS8 FFS.
Here is the firmware version:
ATI
CINTERION
PLS8-US R4
REVISION 04.004
I entered the following command sequence on the MODEM interface:
AT+CCLK="21/07/04,14:53:00" ( This was set correctly, UTC)
OK
AT^SGPSC="Engine","0"
^SGPSC: "Engine","0"
OK
AT^SBNW=agps,-1
CONNECT
AGPS READY: RESET GPS ENGINE AND DELETE XTRA FILE...
AGPS: END OK
OK
AT^SBNW="agps",60698 (size has been verified numerous *****)
CONNECT
AGPS READY: SEND FILE ...
At this point on the APP interface, I used this command to download the file:
cat xtra2.bin >> ttyUSB0
However, the download failed with the following error
AGPS: SERVICE TIMEOUT ERROR
AGPS: UNDEFINED ERROR
+CME ERROR: operation failed
I need some clarifications and any help would be greatly appreciated.
[1] In the datasheet there are 3 download links. The files are different sizes
depending on the link. Which one do I use?
http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra2.bin
http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra2.bin
http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra2.bin
[2] How should I download the file from the host PC to the PLS8? Is there a utility?
Protocol document?
Thank you,
Kenneth
Hello,
As there is a timeout error I think that it is possible that there might an issue in your environment that the data is not transferred. Please verify it first. How long does it take to get this timeout result? Please try to hit some keys on the keyboard to add extra dummy data to see if you can see any result earlier (even error). Anyway try also with other files. You may test under Windows too.
The file sizes under the particular links may differ but in general any of them should be OK. However due to some changes on the chip provider side the files from the links you pasted were causing problems. Due to that there are new links now - please try these:
http://xtrapath4.izatcloud.net/xtra2.bin
http://xtrapath5.izatcloud.net/xtra2.bin
http://xtrapath6.izatcloud.net/xtra2.bin
Best regards,
