PLS8-E won't connect to 4G/LTE | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

I trying to get a PLS8-E modem to connect using 4G/LTE, but it will only do 3G. I'm hoping to find the appropriate setting to change to persuade it to use 4G/LTE.
I'm using a SIM that I have put in a phone and achieved a good 4G connection.
I believe I have a good enough 4G signal, and I also thought that if the signal was good enough, it should automatically connect at 4G.
After making a successful 3G connection, AT+COPS? gives this response:
COPS: 0,0,"O2 - UK",2
I presume the RAT of 2 (UTRAN) implies that it hasn't seen a good enough signal to use E-UTRAN?
I've effectively disabled 3G by changing the value of Radio/Band with AT^SCFG to include only the 4G/LTE frequencies. This certainly prevents a 3G connection, but doesn't help to get a 4G connection.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any other commands I can use to diagnose the reason?
Thanks.
Hello,
Maybe the operator is configured manually? Please set AT+COPS=0.
Please check AT+CGDCONT? answer - is there anything configured for cid 1? It is used for LTE and the best choice would be to leave it empty to let the network configure it automatically. Please also see the chapter "13.1.1 Attaching to LTE Networks" of AT Commands Specification document.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The AT command document I have does not have the section 13.1.1 (or any other number) with a heading "Attaching to LTE Networks". I have PLS8-E_ATC_V01.000. Is there another document or an update available?
Thanks,
Mark
Hello,
So you have quite an old document for the release one. You can find the newer one here: https://iot-developer.thalesgroup.com/documentation/download-documentati...
Please also check the firmware version on your module with ATI1 command. You may also have the release one hardware if the firmware is rel. one.
