Hi , I have embedded devices where the Cinterion PLS8-E modem is used - My earlier batch of devices are working but my new batch of devices are having modem issues - If I replace the modem from an earlier batch to the new batch it works - So issue is with the modem - My findings on the difference between the two modems is the firmware version (I don't think this is the issue), I checked all the parameter settings and the 2 modems are the same . The new modem is connecting to the network and I can talk to it from my application but my application does recognize that there is pppo connection. What I have found tht the USB3 setting on the new modem is different from the old modem via the AT^SSRVSET? - Old and New listed below
I am looking for urgent help , firstly on how do I rollback a firmware on the new modem and how can I get the AT^SSRVSET? setting to bee the same .

Hello,
The firmware downgrade is generally not recommended. For the moment I'm not sure if it is possible for these versions. But even if it is there might be side effects.
There might be some differences between these 2 releases but in general both should be compatible.
To check which service set is used you can use these commands:
AT^SSRVSET="current"
AT^SSRVSET="actSrvSet"
If you are experiencing problems you should check the communication between the module and the system - AT commands executed or also PPP trace in case of PPP connection to find what really fails. For instance pppd trace in case of Linux.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
Thank you for your reply , noted on the firmware
Regarding the ssrvset config , there is a diffrence between the old and and new modem and I am having trouble trying to add the missing config for usb3 on the new modem , listed below the command I am using with the error code response.
New Modem (Not working)
AT^SSRVSET="actSrvSet"
^SSRVSET: 2
AT^SSRVSET="current"
^SSRVSET: "usbcomp","0061","","1E2D","0061","Cinterion","LTE Modem",""
^SSRVSET: "srvmap","MDM","USB0","MUX0"
^SSRVSET: "srvmap","APP","USB1","MUX1"
^SSRVSET: "srvmap","NMEA","USB2","MUX2"
Old Modem (Working)
AT^SSRVSET="actSrvSet"
^SSRVSET: 2
AT^SSRVSET="current"
^SSRVSET: "usbcomp","0061","","1E2D","0061","Cinterion","LTE Modem",""
^SSRVSET: "srvmap","MDM","USB0","MUX0"
^SSRVSET: "srvmap","APP","USB1","MUX1"
^SSRVSET: "srvmap","NMEA","USB2","MUX2"
^SSRVSET: "srvmap","RSA","USB3","MUX3"
Trying to add to new modem
AT^SSRVSET=2,"srvmap","RSA","USB3","MUX3"
^SSRVSET: "ERROR",2
Hello,
The configuration for MDM, APP and NMEA is the same.
You should not try to configure RSA (Remote USIM Access) as it is not supported by this module. And I believe that it is not your problem unless you know what it is and you were using it. As far as I know this is supported by ALSx modules from the same family which are dedicated for automotive.
You need to answer the question how exactly does your device use the module and what exactly the problem is? Then you need to debug the communication and check where it fails.
BR,
Bartłomiej
