I have a PHS8-P modem connected to Linux.
It should be possible to access the application interface via /dev/ttyUSB2 when AT^SDPORT=5.
Now AT^SDPORT=2 and no logical channels of the USB device is unsable.
How can I access the modem and set AT^SDPORT=5 again?

unfortunately now it's only possible to change it via ASC0 interface.

OK, but how?
I can access ASC0 with a console (screen) but ASC0 is the modem interface. How do I send AT commands?

Hello,
AT command interpreter is present also on modem interface. Connect to corresponding com port and try to enter the command. Maybe you didn't enter proper baudrate?

What is "proper baudrate"? I have tried 115200, 9800 and 19200. Shouldn't it be autodetect. When I type my AT commands, I cannot see anything, so I typed ATE1 (echo), but no result.

Hi,
another possible cause is the module is using hardware flow control (enabled by default) and your terminal doesn't. Enable RTS/CTS hfc in your terminal and scan all supported baudrates:
9600
14400
19200
28800
38400
57600
115200
230400
460800
921600
Remember that echo may be disabled, so no output will be present until you hit enter.

Did you get this working? I've been trying to talk to the PH8 over ASC0 with numerous setting but get no response. I've entered AT^SDPORT=2 via USB connection as need the serial port

Hello,
the default AT\Q setting is hardware flow control enabled. Maybe you're using 3-wire connector cable that doesn't support RTS/CTS flow control. You can trick the module with connecting RTS with CTS.
Are you using normal RS232 com port or some kind of USB-RS232 converter? Some converters don't provide RTS/CTS support.
