Move from MC55i to PLS62T-W USB via RS232. What is the difference? | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

I used the Cinterion MC55i terminal via RS232 for years to send and receive SMS messages. After opening the COM-port I started with AT+CFUN=1 and went on from there.
Now I replaced the MC55i with a Cinterion PLS62T-W USB terminal, also connected via the RS232-port to the RS232-port of the Windows-PC as before.
After opening COM1 I sent AT+CFUN=1 and was hoping it would work.....
But no, no response. Nothing at all. Also not an error. Just nothing.
So obviously something is different between the 2 terminals.
I have to start different or have to configure something first.
Can somebody give me a push in the right direction?
Thank you.

Hi Simon!
After connecting the power source you should be able to communicate with the module through ASC0 right away.
The baud rate for communication for default is 115200bps 8N1 so make sure to set it right.
If it's still not working try plugging in the USB cable and connecting with the terminal this way.
Let me know if my tips work for you and we'll build up from there.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Lukasz
Hi lukasz,
Thank you for your reaction.
I also had a technician looking at the problem.
He installed a simple Terminal-program and started playing with the settings.
And indeed, setting the baud rate to 115200 did the trick.
There was a response.
So now I can use it in my program. Just change the baud rate from 9600 to 115200.
I did have to change some of the AT-commands and parameters and the reactions from them, but that was just a matter of testing and trial-and-error and reading the manual.
It now works.
Thank you.
