Hi,

have anyone used or knows for a character display for Gemalto modules that can be interfaced trough I2C or SPI. I have found one that would maybe work: http://www.audon.co.uk/hmi_key/uif5k.html

I would be glad if anyone can share there experience on thise field.

Hi Jure,

the following link shows a SPI screen connected to the SPI bus of a device with a TC65.

 Electronic Assembly model EA DIP204-4HNLED.

The info is in spanish language, maybe you can use a translator to your prefered language

thank you for your information. But I should probably make it more explicit in my previous post that we would like a display that has "casing". Like the on in my link. So that is backisde is also closed.

Hello Jure,

According to user's manual attached to the pruduct under your link the display seems to have RS232 interface. Nevertheless it should be working with Gemalto modules.

at the side description it says that it also supports I2C or SPI:

The UIF-5K provides a low cost easy-to-use user interface that is a must in industrial controller design. It has a built-in 20 x 4 character LCD with backlight, 5 keys and buzzer, and can communicate with a processor or PLC via RS232, SPI or I2C buses.

But we would like to find some more displays like this. But I was able to find only the types that Alopez suggested.

Yes, I've seen that. But in the document I can only see the RS232.

Unfortunatelly I 'm not able to recommend you anything.

Maybe othe forum users could share their experience with the displays.
