ELS81-E: restore factory settings | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

Hello,
I have been playing with smart network switching functionality on ELS81-E modem. However after some experiments it looks like I can not restore original fixed configuration. At least I am not able to detect SIM card anymore. Is there any way to restore factory settings on ELS81-E modem without firmware update ?
Regards,
Sergey
Hello,
AT&F can reset some of the values to factory defaults but not all is restorable with this command. What does AT+CPIN? return (after setting AT+CMEE=2 before)? Can you also check AT+CFUN? and AT^SCFG? outputs?
Regards,
Bartłomiej
Hi,
I tried AT&F as well as firmware update, no luck so far.
Here is what I get:
> ATI1
Cinterion
ELS81-E
REVISION 05.001
A-REVISION 01.000.04
> AT+CPIN?
+CME ERROR: SIM not inserted
> AT+CFUN?
+CFUN: 4,0
> AT^SCFG?

Hello,
What I can see here is that the module is in airplane mode. Please try to change full functionality with AT+CFUN=1. Airplane mode is also set as default startup mode '^SCFG: "MEopMode/CFUN","0","4"'. But in airplane mode you should generally also see the SIM card if it's connected. Are you sure it is and it is not any hardware issue?
Regards,
Bartłomiej
Hello Bartłomiej,
You are right, please disregard my question. I suspected some kind of stalled configuration issue after switching back and forth between manual mode and smart network selection mode. However that turned out to be a hardware issue around sim cards circuitry.

Sergey
