ELS61-US - not able to see 4G band 4 (1700/2100Mhz) | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community
November 15, 2018 - 4:40pm, 7367 views
We've found that the modem fails to scan (or camp on) cell towers in 4G Band 4.
We have a Telit LE910-NA1 that is able to camp on these cells without problem.
The Telit modem describes the tower as:
AT&T RSRP:-94 RSRQ:-9 TAC:5411 Id:29D7C17 EARFCN:2150 PWR:-61dBm DRX:0
ATI1 returns:
Cinterion ELS61-US REVISION 01.000 A-REVISION 00.014.00 OK
I notice there is a new version of f/w available for this modem, released in August. I can't find the release notes for this though - could you make them available, please.
Thanks
Hello,
It is good to hear that the module registers to band 4 in A-REVISION 00.026.00.
I have searched for this again and I have found that there was some fix for LTE bands in one of the releases prior to A-REVISION 00.026.00.
So I think that you may assume this problem as fixed.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
Hello
Thanks Bartlomiej
Could you forward the release notes that show this, please?
All I can find, in past release notes, is a mention of registering on Rogers LTE callbox.
Regards
Steve
Hello,
I'm sorry but I also haven't found anything more in release notes.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
Hi Bartlomeij
This is a little confusing. You said that you had found details of an LTE band fix, but it is not in release notes. Could you provide details please?
I cannot "assume this problem is fixed" without seeing some evidence or acknowledgement from Gemalto that this fault was known and has been fixed.
We need to invest a lot of time and money in re-testing the behaviour & performance of this modem, in our product, again and I'm sure you can understand that we don't want to waste this time & money without this assurance.
Regards
Steve
Hi Bartlomeij
Are you able to provide any further information about this fix that you mentioned?
Thanks
Steve
Hello Steve,
I have shared here all the information I was able to.
I understand your point but I cannot issue any official statements on behalf of Gemalto or publish any internal documents or information. I think that you should contact your local Gemalto office with this.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
I understand. I thought that might be the case.
Thanks for you help, nonetheless.
Best regards
Steve
