Good day!

I’m planning on using an ELS61-AUS in a new project and I have a question about fallback options. The 4G frequency I need to run at is 1800MHz however the 3G fallback will be 900MHz. I’m rather limited in the antenna I can use (basically a whip) so I’m wondering if I can use the diversity antenna port for a fallback 900MHz antenna and the primary for 1800?  I’m not sending / receiving any data so I don’t need the diversity antenna for diversity. My alternative I guess is an external RF switch.

Hello,

It is not possible to configure the additional diversity antenna as regular antenna for the dedicated frequency. Generally the diversity antenna cannot transmit but only receive. For transmission only the primary antenna is used. You can either enable this diversity antenna to have more reliable reception or disable it.
