Hi Everyone, I was testing the code example Gpio5V project , i modified it for blinking the D2 LED. when i test with Debug connection the program works fine. But after disconnecting if i press the Start Button my program not running why? How do i can run my java code (RUN Mode without connecting USB) Thanks, Ashok r

I haven't actually used it but I'm 90% sure the thing you want is called "autostart" and it's referenced in the AT command documentation. ========= Userware Autostart Specifies if the userware is started automatically on power-up. If autostart is enabled, it is no longer possible to use Multiplex mode (AT+CMUX). If the Userware application starts, all current calls will be terminated. Parameter is global, stored non-volatile in ME and not reset by AT&F. “0“ (D) Userware autostart disabled “1“ Userware autostart enabled =========

Hi JMITCHESON, Still I didn't understand, if we enable the userware autostart , calling functionality will not work means what is the use in writing java program ? I am confused in operations of this board. Thanks, Ashok r

Hello, when you run your application directly from eclipse it's not being installed on board (it's only ran on the fly). So if you want to have your MIDlet installed you need to deploy the MIDlet, load it to module's FFS (e.g. using MES) and install it using AT^SJAM. You can find detailed instructions in Java Userguide. As you have your application installed you can start it. There are two was: 1. Manual start - using AT^SJAM command 2. Autostart on module's power-up - adding Oracle-MIDlet-Autostart entry to JAD file before installing. I suppose you want your application to start with module's power-up so 2nd way will fit. Regarding Userware/Autostart property - if it's disabled JRC MIDlet, which provides part of module's functionality, doesn't start - some AT commands will don't work. Regards Jedrzej

Thanks Jedrzej, I followed the Java user guide instruction to install my jad file. but it fails. from the editor i am getting the location as http://192.168.244.2:1251/Gpio5V_lib.jad also in my windows 7 , Centerion module is detecting as "Module" and the type is Unknown. can you help me how to i can install the Jad file.

Hi, the location you've pasted is network location that is being used when running midlets directly from IDE. It sometimes stays on midlets' list when the midlet doesn't end gently. To deploy the midlet follow the steps: 1. Create package from code in Eclipse 2. Open module's FFS with MES 3. Load JAR and JAD files to MES 4. Install MIDlet with AT^SJAM=0,"a:/Gpio5V_lib.jad","" 5. Run MIDlet with AT^SJAM=1,"a:/Gpio5V_lib.jad","" If you want this MIDlet to start with module's power-up, add "Oracle-MIDlet-Autostart: 5" to JAD file. Regards Jedrzej

Hi Jedrzej, I am sorry , still im not getting the point. after creating package from eclipse what jave files i need to put in? And opening the Modules FFS with MES means? how do i can get JAR files? like these i have so many confusion. can you please refer something to understand better? Thanks, Ashok r

Hi Ashok r, to create Java package, please open Application Descriptor file and navigate to Overview -> Packaging -> Create Package. Pick your project and configuration (probably IMP_NG_EHS5_REMOTE1) and click "Finish". Compiled MIDlet (JAD and JAR files) will be present in deployed/IMP_NG_EHS5_REMOTE1 directory. Load them to module's flash file system with MES. Instructions are available in Java Userguide, chapter 7. After that you can install and run MIDlet with AT^SJAM command. If you added "Oracle-MIDlet-Autostart: 5" to your application descriptor the MIDlet will start with module's power-up. Regards Jedrzej

Hi Jedrzej, Now I am able to create JAD and JAR file. And it located inside the IMP_NG_EHS5_REMOTE1 folder , after this step, how do i can load into module flash with MES? Thanks, Ashok r

Hi Ashok r, You are more then welcome to rise any questions here, so please never hesitate to do so... but from what I can see, you don't have a Java User's Guide, or you are trying to avoid reading it ;-) Chapter 7.1 Module Exchange Suite The Module Exchange Suite allows you to view the Flash file system on the module as a directory from Windows Explorer. Make sure that the module is turned on and that one of the module’s serial interfaces (ASC0, ASC1 or USB) is connected to the COM port that the Module Exchange Suite is configured to. Hi Michal, I got it now, actually id didn't selected correct COM Port so it didnt open in windows exxplore and now fine i am able to copy the JAD and JAR file into the Board "Module Disk A:\" after this setp i am trying to run the program using commands but its returning ERROR for following command AT^SJAM=1,"a:/Gpio5V_lib.jad","" if there is a option to attache snap here , it would be easy to understand the issue.
