BGS5 power on and life span | Thales IoT Developer Community

Hi,
We have a new project where the devices will be powered off without previous notice several ***** a day. There's a switch that will cut the power off.
Has anyone experience with such enviroments? Does this have consequences for the BGS5 life span (Many power on/off a day)?
Thanks
Hello,
The best and safest approach to powering down the module is the software shutdown (with AT command).
This procedure lets EHS6 log off from the network and allows the software to enter into a secure state and safe data before disconnecting the power supply. The second approach to consider is hardware controlled shutdown.
Simple cutting off the power would be the last. Probably nothing will happen but when done many ***** a day the risk is growing that something may happen due to some data loss while cutting off the power during some crucial operation. This is a speculation only but you can't be 100% sure.
