Hi,
sometimes when I open a socket with a server, using at commands, through RS232 or USB after the connections is closed modem sends me thousands of white spaces. My module is BGS5 and EHS5
Thanks
Hello,
Which FW version for each module are you using? What type of connection was established: transparent mode or non-transparent mode? Could you please provide any details related to the server you connected to?
BR,
Agata
Hi,
the FW version:
Cinterion
BGS5
REVISION 01.100
A-REVISION 00.000.21
Cinterion
EHS5-E
REVISION 03.001
A-REVISION 00.000.55
The connection is transparent mode, and the server is typical socket in ascii, it is an own server.
Thanks.
Best Regards
Hi,
If I understood correctly, you wrote, that it is your own server, which you setup for test purpose. Have you tried to test transparent connection to other servers with these modules? If not, I would recommend testing with other servers as well.
Best regards,
Agata
Hi,
to this server are connected thousand of differents devices working property. It is not a server to do only this test.
Thanks.

Hi,
Could you write what to do, step by step, to reproduce your issue? Can you write more information about your server and how you close your socket connection? As you say there is thousand of different devices, so only EHS5 and BGS5 have received this white space or those devices are working on defferent way? Just to be sure, can you test your modules with different server?
Best regards,
Krzysztof
Hi,
we have tried with different servers and same result.
The other devices connected with this server never received this white space.
The module fails sometimes when we repeat this sequence, at the time that the server close the connection.

Hi,
any news about this issue.
Thanks.

Hello,
You have written that these whitespaces are sent when the connection is closed. And they are not sent by the server as I understand.
Your log ends on opening the connection and switching to transparent mode.
Can you precise what is the scenario for closing the connection and paste the log - does the module switch to AT commands mode and close the connection or is it closed by the server while the interface is still in data mode?
Can you describe the hardware setup that you are using for this test. Is it some developer board, terminal, some custom board? Is hardware flow control used?
Thanks and regards,
Bartłomiej
Hi,
the connection is closed by the server.
We can reproduce the problem via USB or RS232 in both BGS5 and EHS5.
The hardware to sent this test to the modem is PC with Windows.
Attached an example of the problem

Hello,
Thank you for the answer.
In a meantime I've found out that such problem was already reported to support line and it's currently being investigated. The report comes from your company. So I think that we can't do anything more on a forum. Please keep in touch with your Gemalto contact person or reseller.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
