Hello Forum,
We use thousands of these modules that works fine but som hundreds of the modules fails during network registration. We can monitor the trafic for each modem from our SIM card providers home page. Here we can see that the modem´s that are failing registration to the network have shiftet to a roaming profile that is not supported by our provider.
Modem is allways set to factory default "AT&F" before initiating a new transmision of data, so the operator is automaticly selected.
Do you have any suggestion how to prevent the modem from selecting a roaming profile that is not supported by our SIM card provider?
Thanks in advance Michael
FYI:
We use Telia SIM cards (Denmark)
Modems are locate in Germany
Telia have agreements with Telekom, E-Plus and TeleFonica
We can see that modems have selected O2 or Vodafone - these are not supported by Telia!
Hi,
Have you tried to limit the available operators by editing the preferred operators list?
At AT^SPLW Write an entry to the preferred operators list.

Hi Antero,
Thanks for your reply. I´m aware of that funktionality. That might also be the solution - we are thinking about making an automatic functionality in our sw that keeps track of succesfull modem calls and thereby dynamically update the preferred operater list.
But I had hoped somebody would come up with an easier solution - like sending one simple AT command to ensure that the modem only select an operater that is supported :-)
Hello,
Please try to list the preferred operators with AT+CPOL? command. Is it the same for all modules/SIM cards? Are these always the same devices that are failing?
I think that you have no choice and have to edit the list. In the newer modules there is also AT+CPLS command to select the preferred operator list whre you can choose for example the user or operator controlled list.
