I am trying to read GPIO input states trough java and terminal, but I am allways getting 0, even when there is 5V on that input.

AT^SCFG returns this, as I watched the data sheet everything is ok.

Hello Jure,
here are some tips for you:
a. At first it is recommended to use I2C
b. But it is also possible to use UART. With this command he will set the GPIO 7&8 to input.
c. At first it's needed to connect the reference voltage for the levelconverter
d. Now set the baudrate to 1200baud
e. Send the command WD=GPIO_DIR,993,21“
f. During sending the command please take a look at the green LED. If it is flashing twice the command is accepted.
g. Now it should be possible to set module configuration
h. At^scpin=1,6,0 opens the GPIO line for GPIO 7 and set it to input
i. Read out the GPIO with at^sgio=6
j. He have to use pull-ups or pull-downs for “reading-out” a button because the module input is floating.
Alternatively you can configure it over I2C:
1. Invoke the command AT^SSPI=
2. Wait for CONNECT
3. Set GPIO7 to input sending <aD41100>
4. Wait for acknowledge {a+}
3. Set GPIO8 to input sending <aD41200>
4. Wait for acknowledge {a+}
5. Exit data mode with # character

Hello Jedrzej,
when I try the first solution there is a problem because the green LED is on all the time. If I understand it should at least blink 4 times if the command was wrong, but when I send WD=GPIO_DIR,993,21“ nothing happens.
I also tried second solution, I got to part where I get response Connect, but how do I set GPIO7 to input? I tried with AT^SGIO but there is no response. But escape character # work normally.

Ok, now I can isue commands, this is what I get. So if I get {a++} this is 1 or just means that I have input on that GPIO? If so how can I check state because AT^SGIO won't work.
Also the first commands gives back something else then {a++}. How could I set and chek status for GPIO 20,21? I looked in data sheets but I can't find out in which form are commands and Also the first one is probably ? Because then it returns {a++}?

Hello Jure,
did you really change the terminal to 1200 bit/s 8n1, disconnected and reconnected?
Do you send a CR at the end of the command?
If there is no flashlight, there is something wrong with your setup or your command!
I would recommend you to doublecheck your hardware and your software, maybe to change the terminal program and / or to change the serial port!
Is any other program than the JRC program running, which might block the serial link?

Here are my Terminal settings. I searched for some other terminals but coulden't find any with which I could work. Do you recomend any?
I don't have any other programs runing. And if you restart module shoulden't all the setup be default? Atleast I allwasy have to set at+cclk and AT+CMEE=2 if I restart the module.

DearJure,
you append CR-LF to your command. I am not quite sure if this is the reason, but normally the commands shall end with CR only!

I tryed with CR only, but there is no diffrence. Could be there any harware error because green LED is on all the time?
Could there be any bug in firmware? My firmware version is 1.100, is this the latest version?
I noticed on the forums that some other user has similar problem:

It looks like you're trying to use USB interface for configuration, this will not work, usage of serial interface is mandatory for watchdog configuration. Has your terminal serial interface? If not, you have to use I2C:
1. start the module
2. Invoke the command AT^SSPI=
3. Wait for CONNECT
4. Set GPIO7 to input sending <aD41100>
5. Wait for acknowledge {a+}
6. Set GPIO8 to input sending <aD41200>
7. Wait for acknowledge {a+}
8. Exit data mode with # character
9. Restart the module with AT+CFUN=1,1
10. Invoke following commands:
AT^SPIO=1 <- enable GPIO driver
AT^SCPIN=1,6,0 <- open GPIO7 as input
AT^SCPIN=1,7,0 <- open GPIO8 as input
AT^SGIO=6 <- read GPIO7 value
AT^SGIO=7 <- read GPIO8 value
