EHS6 debugging in Eclipse/NetBeans doesn't work | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

Hello,
I am trying to setup everything so I can debug the program in eclipse or netbeans, but after running the setup and following instructions I feel like I missed something. I get this message in Eclipse.
Connecting to module...
Initializing module for debugging...
Establishing "IP connection for remote debugging of EHSx"...
Registering ip address "192.168.244.1" of remote debugging device...
Waiting for debug device registration of "IMP_NG_EHS5_REMOTE"...
Passing control to external device emulator...
Failed to connect remote debugging device!
End of debug session. Emulator is closed!
I'm not sure how to make it work. I had the same problem with BGS5 terminal. Anyway, here's the AT^SCFG of the EHS6

Turning off the firewall didn't help either. I'll be thankful for any help.

Hello,
Normally when you start debugging or runnig MIDlet from IDE the OJMEE manager starts and it keeps running.
Please also verify the firmware version in the working and non-working module with ATI1 command - maybe there is a difference.

Bartłomiej
Hello,
This is ati1 from the one that doesn't work:
Cinterion
EHS6
REVISION 02.000
A-REVISION 00.000.03
It's an old concept board. I can try upgrading firmware tomorrow if needed, but I feel like it's not the problem since I had up to 4 different modules by now. This is the one that "worked"
Cinterion
EHS6
REVISION 03.001
A-REVISION 00.000.42
I would like to apologise, by saying it works I meant it doesn't throw out any errors. The problem is I can't still debug it. It closes before I can do anything. Somehow the same happens today with the old one, even without me changing anything.
This is what I get now:

Once again, the manager starts and closes.
EDIT: Nevermind. The last message was because the modem was incorrectly setup. There was no number and wrong modem was selected. Now I'm back to the original error with all modules, even with the ones I thought that worked....
Hello,
Let's sum this up - now you get the same error as in the beggining of the thread for all the modules you tried and for both OS versions Win 7 and 10?
That would not be good as at least for Win 7 it should be working. For this error the most probable cause of the problem would be the firewall which you exclude as you have deactivated it completely.
As I have noticed you are using quite an old version of the software. So it would be better if you downloaded the newer version, I'd recommend that you tried this with Win 7: ehsx_rev03.001_arn0000014 - you can find it here: https://iot-developer.thalesgroup.com/documentation/download-documentati...

Hello,
yes, that's absolutely right. No matter what module I use or PC I get the same error. I tried the newer version you sent on two computers and still the same thing. I am thinking maybe there can be some trouble with the plugin in netbeans or something similar? Is there a way to test a connection to the device in a similar way just without IDE? Now that I think about it, when I was installing plugins, I installed mobility plugin, but I couldn't find the second one mentioned in the user guide. Netbeans announced it will download 3-4 other plugins to make mobility work, but maybe it didn't install everything necessary?
Hello,
This is getting strange. The best test would be to install everything from the provided installation CD archive, also Eclipse or Netbeans. There should also be a mobility plugin.
As you have the same problem on all PC's there must be something common for all of them. Are you using the corporate PC's prepared by yout IT? Maybe there is something that you are not aware of that causes that the debug traffic is blocked. One other thing is that Windows throws a screen to select the network type when you connect a new network - maybe you have chosen public network which caused that the traffic is blocked.
I don't know the way to test this connection without the IDE. You could use Wireshark to see the traffic on the debug connection.

Bartłomiej
Hello Bartlomiej,
it finally works! I uninstalled everything thoroughly and used Eclipse provided instead of the newest version. After installing everything, I installed the plugins on the CD and got the same error. This time though, I noticed that - while installing the plugins - the OMJEE device manager was running and stayed running. I opened it up and put in the IP address 192.168.244.1 and 192.168.244.2 (yes, I believe one of them is unnecessary, but I am not brave enough anymore to find out which one) and it started working.
I've never been happier to see "Hello World!" in my life. Everything works now even on Windows 10. The problem probably was me installing plugins from the internet and not the ones provided on the cd. It seems like a different version of them may be causing problems? I'm not sure. Anyway, thank you very much for your patience.
Regards,
Kábrt.
Hello,
That's great news!
The software provided in the installation CD archive is proved to be working all toghether and it the best choice to use. The latest versions from the internet may not be compatible and may cause problems. I should have asked you that question but for some reason I believed that you must have instaleed everything from the CD.
If OJMEE was not running before you'd probably not need to add the addresses manually.
Best regards,
Bartłomiej
