ELS61-US Unexpected Restart | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

We are experiencing an unexpected modem restart/crash on the ELS61-US. This occurs when transitioning from a command state to an online data state. The CONNECT message is received but the modem restarts. This failure does not occur every time. Most of the time we can transition from command state to online data state without any issue but does happen several ***** each day. Attached is our log that includes a failures and also a succussful transition. The logs can be best viewed with a monospaced font.
We have checked our power supply and current levels. We also use the EHS6 and have never seen this issue.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

ELS61-US
REVISION 01.000
A-REVISION 00.014.00
Hello,
You have the current firmware.
Can you write more about the solution? What is the scenario? What hardware is used - is it a developer board or your own design? What interfaces are used?
Regards,
Bartłomiej
Thank you for the quick response.
We are using the ELS61 to provide cellular IP connectivity for our dataloggers. The scenario is as follows: We first boot-up the modem, then configure the modem via the UART using AT commands. We then use the ATD*99# (Request Packet Domain Service) to start PPP online mode. The modem stays in PPP online mode providing us with IP connectivity. About twice an hour we use the "+++" to switch to command mode to check the network and signal then switch back to PPP online mode using the ATO0 command. After receiving the CONNECT message sometimes the modem unexpectedly reboots.
The hardware we are using is a Briowireless BitPipe BP43G1-US Cellular Modem in a UART transparent mode. In transparent mode the Briowireless module allows us to have direct access via a UART virtual bridge to the ELS61. This setup uses the UART interface on the ELS61.
Regards,
Travis
Hello,
I've seen in the Briowireless BitPipe BP43G1-US documentation that UART is connected to the microcontroller that has connections to the module so it's not the direct connection. And we in fact don't know what's inside. So in fact for now we can't be sure where the problem is. I think that you could also report this to Briowireless.
As I can see USB is also available and seems to be directly connected to the module. So there's also a workaround possible - you could use USB besides or instead of RS232 and then have separate interfaces for data transmission and AT commands (if it's possible in your design).
Regards,
Bartłomiej
