Hi, on my new BGS5 Terminal i'm unable to select any other device for /Userware/Stdout except "ASC0". When trying to set "USB","USB2" i'm getting "ERROR". When trying to set "ASC1" or "NULL" the module seems to reset and aftwards still "ASC0" is selected. Any hints for me, what else can i try? Thanks in Advance Andy

Hi Andy, The general rule is that You can't set the Stdout for the Interface from which the command is executed. If you try to do this then an +CME ERROR: phone adapter link reserved will be returned. If you run the command AT^SCFG=? then You will see which vaules are available for Stdout parameter. And you will see that USB2 isn't available because BGS5 has only one additional USB port apart from Modem. Error when trying to set ASC1 may appear when ASC1 isn't enabled. To enable ASC1 you need to run AT^SCFG="Serial/Interface/Allocation","1" and restart the module. So the question is which COM port are You using?

Hi, Thanks for your quick reply. :-) My software want to use ASC0 for communication to a peripheral device. And i want to use the usb interface for stdout for debugging purpose. I've tried now to set ASC1 enabled. And when trying to select it with AT^SCFG="Userware/Stdout","ASC1" then the module reboots and removes the usb interface. So no more communication is possible. When i the powercycle the module, still ASC0 is selected. I think there must be some problem with the firmware, i guess.. Cheers Andy

Hi Andy, This all sound a little bit strange to me. Please check this: 1) FW version (ati1 command) 2) current scfg settings (at^scfg?) Please also make sure that you don't have any module USB com port opened in the system (like terminals etc.). USB port needs to be closed each time module is restarted, otherwise windows can't enumerate. In this case it may give an impression that USB interface has vanished. Please copy-paste here which exactly AT commands you are sending (including a note from which interface they were sent) and what are the results.

Hi Andy,

I had the same problem, but the answer was very simple:

AT^SCFG="Userware/Stdout","USB1",,,,"off"

^SCFG: "Userware/Stdout","usb1",,,,"off"

OK

In some point, the device USB became the USB1.
