EHS6T Lan - Modem TCP port 1234 issue | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

Hi,
I'm having occasional issues when connecting to a device through telnet on port 1234.
Normally the device is working ok, but after a while the device stops responding to commands correctly and only replies with the character 'A'.
Here's a copy of the comms log:
<CONNECT>
02/13/17 08:22:46 > ATZ
02/13/17 08:22:47 < ÿû<ETX>ÿû<SOH>ÿþ<SOH>ÿý<NUL>A
02/13/17 08:22:48 > ATE0
02/13/17 08:22:49 < A
02/13/17 08:22:49 > AT+CMGF=1;+CSCS="GSM"
02/13/17 08:22:50 < A
Is there anything I can check to see what's causing the issue?
I've already disabled the SMSTOOLS application as this was intercepting all inbound SMS messages so there shouldn't be anything else talking to the device.
Also, I've modified the ser2netehsfw-0.01.conf file to enable a 30 second timeout on the telnet port 1234.
ATI1 on the device:
Cinterion
EHS6
REVISION 03.001
A-REVISION 00.000.31
Thanks.
Hello,
Have you noticed if this is happening when you send any particular commands or it doesn't matter?
Is it still happening when you connect again?
Regards,
Bartłomiej
Hi Bartłomiej,
It appears that every command returns the A, regardless if it's a valid command or not.
Disconnecting and reconnecting to the TCP port returns the same output.
Thanks.
The background of my question was to check if there are possibly any particular commands you send that may trigger this behavior. Maybe you issue some command that changes the interface behavior.
So the restart is needed for that to get working again?
Regards,
Bartłomiej
Appologies for the delay, yes a restart is required for the device to work again.
We use a small set of AT commands, specifically:
ATZ
AT+CPIN
ATE0
AT+CUSD
AT+CSMP
AT+CSCS
AT+CMGF
AT+CSMS
AT+CPMS
AT+CMGS
AT+CMGR
There is no command specifically that appears to cause the issue, rather the next time we connect to the device we experience this issue.
Hello,
You send ATZ which restores AT Command Settings from User Defined Profile. Are you storing any specific settings with AT&W?
At the moment we cannot be sure where the problem is - in the module and it's firmware or OpenWRT system or maybe the software that communicates with the terminal. Is it only one device that is failing or you have this problem with more devices? It would be also a good idea to connect to the module with RS232 cable and check if it replies correctly when this problem happens.

Bartłomiej
Hi!
I have tested the EHS6T Lan - Modem TCP port 1234 with:
- direct Ethernet from Ubuntu16.04.LTS using PuTTY SSH Client, Telnet <address>:1234
- remotely (3G) through port forwarding to the <address>:1234 using TeraTerm and ZOC terminal Telnet
- remotely (3G) through port forwarding to the <address>:22 using TeraTerm SSH and under OpenWRT
telnet localhost:1234
I could not experience any output problems so far. A log extract from the third example is below:
[Thu Mar 02 11:12:33.998 2017] loctelnet localhost:1234

I also changed the 1234 port timeout to 30 seconds and got the same results.
The OpenWRT version is CHAOS CALMER (Chaos Calmer, r47065,
Which kind of communication environment you are using?
Win or Linux, comm program?
We have a energy measurement demonstration system running at our premises that is based on an EHS6T LAN Terminal. I enclose a short description.

Hi,
The EHS6T LAN description again...
EHS6T LAN demo_en.pdf
The file was 24kbyte over 1Gbyte that is the limit.
Now it is shrinked to 640 kbytes.
