Using EHS6 ASC1 UART without RTS/CTS lines connected | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

Hi all,
I would like to connect an external RS-232 peripheral to the ASC1 UART on the Gemalto Concept board.
Unfortunately, I cannot access the flow control lines on the external hardware I wish to connect to, and the AT command set document (DocID:EHS6_ATC_V02.000) says that the UART must use hardware flow control and the AT\Q commands simply respond OK but doesn't change the flow control settings.
Is there a way of using the ASC1 port via Java, without hardware flow control connected?
Or have I fallen at the first hurdle?
Thanks
Andy
Hello,
It is also written in this document that:
"however the EHS6 does support TE communication when using only the RXD, TXD and GND lines. This is possible because the input lines for hardware flow control, RTS0 and RTS1, each have an internal pull down resistor inside the EHS6. For customer applications designed without RTS and CTS lines this means that the default setting of AT\Q3 can still be accepted even though hardware flow control is not actually used outside EHS6."
In the release 3 there was a change and AT\Q command has more possible values including no flow control and software flow control. But still it is recommended to use RTS/CTS hardware flow control.

Hi, how to find release 3 downloads link.
Thank,
Flavio
Hello,
You can ask the local Gemalto technical sales. If you have access to the Gemalto extranet you should also be able to download it from there.
Do you have any problem with the release that you are using?
