Hi,
I have a problem detecting the simcard connected to a BG2 module. When is the simcard check? just after a reset of the BG2 module our every time you check te sim status. Just after a reset i see a clock but no data and the reset is low, i think this is not ok?
Hello,
Could you write more about the hardware? Is it any ready developer board or prepared by you?
Do you check it with AT commands?

Bartłomiej
Hello,
I am using my own board.
When I send AT+CPIN? I get this error. What is see is that there is no clock to the SIM during this action, only after a BG2 reset I see clock pulses but no data. How does the BG2 decides that there is no SIM?

Hello
The module tries to communicate first using 1.8V and if unsuccessful it tries with 3V. Do you use the CCIN line - it is only mandatory if there is a possibility to remove SIM during operation. Have you taken into consideration the HW description - does the total cable length not exceed 100mm for SIM interface connection? Are the CCCLK and CCIO lines not too close together and possibly separated by the ground line? Did you use any reference design? You could try to oscilloscope the lines also. Or just paste the scheme of the SIM interface connection. Have you tried other SIM cards?

Hi,
Before we get into design detail. So the BG2 module tries to communicate to the SIM just after a reset. When there is no communication the BG2 decides that there is no SIM, and it won’t check for it anymore also not after an AT+CPIN? command.
I will focus on the communication to the SIM just after the reset.

Yes, if the module is not able to communicate with the SIM card it will not try again until the next reboot unless the CCIN line is used.
There is one more important thing - please check what SIM card you are trying to communicate with - BG2 is quite an old module and it doesn't support USIM cards - maybe this is the source of your problem.

Hi,
The reset line was not properly connected, problem is solved.
Thanks for your support.
