I am having a problem in having reliable communication between the EHSx6 terminal and a PLC with RS232 Port. What I am trying to achive is that the PLC send line of string to the EHSx device which it then posts to our website. It works randomly about very 4th - 5th transmission to the EHSx Modem. Previously we have been using the olc TC65 Terminal modem it it always worked without any problems but the new EHSx Terminal does not work reliably.
When I connect:
EHSx6 Terminal connected to PC Hyperterminal. Works
EHSx connected to PLC. Does not work.
Old TC65 Terminal connected to PLC. Works.
Is there anything special I need to do setup/configure the RS232 ports. I assume it is setup correctly as it works fine when connected to PC.
Any help would be appreciated.
Do you use the same parameters as with the TC65 regarding baudrate, flow control and start/stop bits?
Yes the parameters are the same
Ok I have sorted my problem. After looking through this forum there was some one else had similar problem as me and the solution was something to do with disabling the power saving on the RS232 port by sending the command 'AT^SPOW=1,0,0'
It is very dissapointing that these sort of information were not available in any sort of documents like a 'User Manual'
