Hi,
what would be best solution to make lasting two way connection to server? Where client(BGS5T) ***** to respond in few seconds when gets command from server and every few minutes it will need to send some data from its sensors.
I managed to made two way socket connection to server by using telnet port 23, but here I would then need to implement logic on server side and client side to check if connection is open(something like hart bits). What solution would you recommend?
We would like solution that would function similar to DTU (http://www.pxtech.cn/en/download/GPRS%20DTU%20vs%20GPRS%20MODEM.pdf)

Hello Jure,
As I understand correctly you would like to have a solution that would connect 'any' device that can communicate over RS232 with the remote server. So you'd like your application to tunnel all the data between the device and server - a kind on RS232 over IP?
So probably the device will connect to server and of course (as you have written) you would need among others to monitor the connection status because it can be broken any time.
You will need to implement your own protocol or try to use something 'ready to use' for example CoAP. But whatever you will find very likely it may not work 'out of the box' and you may need to adopt the code. It all depends on your ***** - own solution may be even simpler.
