Does ELS61-E R2 support sending SMS (SG/IMS) and ATD (voice call) on LTE only networks? | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

Hi,

I've been using AT+CMGS to send SMS and ATD to make voice call (no voice) and then send DMTF signals on my ELS61-E R2 terminal.

However, my country mobile operators are now phasing out 3G and 2G, so I wanted to test both commands on LTE only network.  Sending SMS over LTE appears to work when I switched to LTE only network, but ATD doesn't.

Can ATD voice call work on LTE only networks?  If the ELS61-E R2 doesn't support it, is there a module from thales that can support this?  Thank you for any guidance.

EDIT1: SMS can be sent over SG or IMS on LTE.  Can ELS61-E R2 support SMS over SG and IMS?  I suppose that SMS over SG works the same as SMS over 3G and 2G.  How about SMS over IMS?  Is there special configuration required?

To force the module to only connect to LTE, I used the following command:

  AT+COPS=0,0,,7
  OK

To confirm that it will connect only to LTE:

  AT^SXRAT?
  ^SXRAT: 3,3

OK

To dial:

ATD*****x;   -> ***** is placed with mobile number
  OK

  NO CARRIER

ATD fails and the error is NO CARRIER.

If I were to reset the module to connect to UTMS using AT+COPS=0,0,,2, ATD would work.

Here's some AT info:
