move from BG2-E to EXS82-W | Telit Cinterion IoT Developer Community

Hello,
Hello, very recently I changed my BGS-E for an EXS82-W in order to take advantage of the MQTT service, the problem is simple: I can't read the data coming from my new module any more than with at least 30 minutes delay!without knowing why !
like if i send " ATE1" to EXS82 there is no response, but if i send it to BGS2 the awser is correct and instantaneous
I didn't find any documentation that mentions a change in the data reception? would anyone have an idea or some tracks to explore?
Hello,
Normally the module should reply like the other one you mentioned. What interface are you using?
What features were you using?
Maybe it is the power saving mode?

i'm using serial ASC0 interface, i don't think if i'm in sleep mode, i know that i can send sms but without the answer of the Echo "ATE1"i receive answer only few minute after when i try to read, there is a change on hardware flow control on EXS82 ? because like i said when i try the BGS2-E with same code, it work correctly
the answer I receive has a strange format and does not correspond to the standard format "\r\n", the answer is not even complete ! moreover it arrives well after sending the sms
i think i got something interesting, i see in the atc datasheet of EXS82 that in flow control , in default we are in hardware flow control(rts/cts) enabled in "AT\Q "default and factory value, but in the bgs2-e there the flow control is disabled, i think that is the problem ! what do you think abbouth this ?
but even if i disable the hardware flow control in the EXS82 by making "AT\Q0" it still don't working
What hardware do you use? Is it any developer board or something else? Do you have a possibility to try on USB?
For hardware flow control you need RTS/CTS lines connected. Do you have these lines?
Is it a new module or was it used by somebody else?
No, I can't try USB, it's a new module, the line RST/CTS in connected but not inverted ( RTSmodule <-> RTS board ) same thing for CTS, in the board i'm using a SC16IS752 to have an uart but i don't activate auto rts/cts in the SC16IS because it's working too
Hello,
Maybe there is some problem with flow control. Please check AT&V output for flow control setting. Try to enable/disable flow control (AT\Q command) and check the communication.
BGS2 has the flow control disabled by default while EXS82 has it enabled.

Good afternoon I am migrating from BGS2 to EXS82, and I have the same problem, my pic (PIC18f67k22) does not read the EXS82 responses but it does read the BGS2 responses. I would like to know what was the solution to this problem thank you
Hello,
Did you check any possible differences in hardware description documents or different default baudrates or flow control?

Bartłomiej
